Swimwear Storiesđź‘™: Meet Hylawear.com

We’re thrilled to kick off Season for Squeezin’s blog series - Swimwear Stories, where we will feature the stories of our swimwear tag partners. Our first story comes from the women-driven, Latinex, family-owned New York based Hylawear.com, where they share their mission of driving both sustainability and luxury, and why breast cancer action is so important to their brand. We couldn’t be more excited to have Hylawear.com onboard as tag partners, and evangelists of the mission to squeeze each time you suit up in your swimwear.

Tell us about your background, and how you got your start in swimwear?

We are Hylawear, where fashion meets the beach! We aim to transform the swimwear and loungewear industry into a green initiative. We are a group of Latinx women curating sustainable and affordable luxury swim and loungewear for both women and men.

Our business is family-owned, and our products are ethically sourced and manufactured by artisans worldwide. We got into swim and lounge wear because we understand that everyone wants to look fabulous while on vacation, visiting a local pool, or enjoying a day at the beach while contributing to the planet’s betterment a guilt-free experience!

We are committed to promoting sustainability in the fashion industry. At Hylawear, fashion and sustainability can coexist. Our affordable luxury swim and loungewear are made from recycled materials such as fishing nets and plastic bottles, reducing waste and promoting a circular economy.

It takes a 5-gallon water container to create one bathing suit! By choosing Hylawear, you can be confident that you are making a difference and reducing your environmental footprint.

How has breast cancer and breast health/advocacy been a part of your life?

We are a family-owned business a group of Latinx women that throughout the years and within our families Cancer in many forms have taken loved ones leaving us with graceful memories but a bitter frustration that we could have done much more.

What does breast cancer action mean to you?

Taking that extra step, that we could have done more action.

What is something you would tell a younger version of yourself about advocating for yourself?

Taking care of yourself through good food, good habits , and preserving nature and our planet is paramount for a better self, for you and your loved ones.
